What types of heat pumps are there?

Heat pumps come in a few varieties, each with its own way of converting ambient temperatures into cosy heat.

Both air-source and ground-source heat pumps work in a similar way: they harness natural energy from their surroundings and bring heat into your home. The main difference is where they find that heat.

Air Source Heat Pumps

These are the most popular types of heat pump. They pull in heat from the air outside into your home, and then boost it to the temperature you need inside.

Ground Source Heat Pumps

These heat pumps tap into the warmth stored underground. They use a bore hole, a network of pipes to pull that natural warmth up into your home.
