Challenging the status quo
UK house-building is dominated by a few large house-builders. New homes generally, and quality new homes in particular are in short supply.
High demand and under-supply have created a seller’s market. Purchasers have few choices in terms of styles of home on offer, the opportunity to custom specify, personalise designs, or influence internal layout. Often, the quality falls short of expectations.
Very few homes are built anticipating the demands of the changing world we live in. Rising energy costs and intense weather events are becoming more frequent.
Work and life is changing. Home working, being connected, being in control of everything, from home entertainment to the alarm system, are common expectations in modern life.
At Melius Homes we strive to solve these challenges.
Melius Homes is a forward thinking business, providing a unique and innovative approach to tackling the desperate need for high quality, affordable homes whilst addressing the urgent need to reduce energy demand.
For us, it is not just about building a new home or bringing an existing building back to life, it's about better living.
Putting householders at the heart of our approach, we are determined to transform the way the house building sector operates, addressing the widely recognised problem of poor quality, underperforming new homes.
We care passionately about how our homes perform, we’re so confident that we guarantee it.
What's in a name?
Our Melius Homes name is derived from the Latin meaning ‘make better' and quite simply it describes how we are driven to create better homes and better places for people to live.
Our identity builds to illustrate our three core values of innovation, assured performance and tailored solutions.
Together they deliver 'better living'.
Managing Our Environmental Impacts
We are not only concerned about delivering new homes and retrofitting existing homes to minimise their energy use and carbon emissions we are also determined to minimise the impact of our business operations.
We use materials with low embodied carbon and carefully manage the energy required to fabricate our timber frame system and complete construction works on site.
We are currently collecting data to enable us to fully understand our energy use, using the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Scope 1, 2 and 3.
